The Dermot Company, Inc. and The Lower Eastside Girls Club of New York, Inc. have partnered to develop a new 30,000 SF headquarters for The Lower Eastside Girls Club and 78 mixed income rental apartments on the Lower Eastside of Manhattan. The twelve story project is expected to be LEED certified and include retail space along Avenue D. Tenants can enjoy the residents’ gym, onsite laundry facilities, a rooftop deck and bike storage. The project has been financed with a combination of tax-exempt housing bonds and new market tax credits by the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Housing Development Corporation, Grosvenor Investment Management US, Inc., Bank of America, Carver Bank and JP Morgan Chase. The project is expected to break ground in May 2010 and is being constructed by D7 Construction, LLC.
